The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the detention of its officers over the alleged shooting and killing of a motorcycle rider in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital. Following the incident, the command said it had commenced a comprehensive investigation into the fatal shooting, which occurred on January 27, 2026, at about 10:30 p.m. around Hariz Filling Station along the ever-busy Abakaliki–Enugu highway. Zichis Agro-Allied Industries Plc has reported a 122 per cent increase in revenue for the nine months ended 30 September 2025, according to its recently filed unaudited financial statements with the Nigerian Exchange Limited. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike, has reminded FCT workers that the strike issue was still in court and advised them to obey court orders.
