The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against kidnapping and violent crimes with the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security operation in Rukubi community of Nasarawa State. The operation was launched following a distress report received in the early hours of Wednesday after armed men reportedly invaded the community on Tuesday night, firing gunshots sporadically and creating panic among residents. Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been named an inductee for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. The organisers announced Davido as part of this year’s class ahead of the induction ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside. The recognition places him alongside entertainment figures honoured for their influence on Black culture and global music. Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo will be sidelined for around six week due to a knee injury, DAILY POST reports. Okoronkwo suffered a meniscus damage on her knee in AFC Toronto’s league game against Halifax this week. The 29-year-old is expected to recover in time for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament will start in Morocco on July 25. Okoronkwo played a crucial role in the Super Falcons triumph at the last  edition of the tournament.
