The National Initiative for Peace and Security, NIPS, has commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for significant operational successes recorded across multiple theatres in the first quarter of 2026. Suspected armed bandits have kidnapped a Special Constabulary officer attached to the Faskari Division of the Katsina State Police Command. Reports of the incident appeared in a post shared on Monday on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the defunct Skye Bank Plc, Tunde Ayeni, before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, over alleged N15.6 billion fraud. The anti-graft agency, in a post on its official X handle on Monday, said Ayeni was arraigned on a 17-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and conversion of investors’ funds.
