EU unveils €4.5m conflict prevention, resilience project in Sokoto

The European Union has launched a €4.5 million conflict prevention and resilience initiative in Sokoto State aimed at addressing insecurity, climate stress, displacement and socioeconomic vulnerabilities affecting communities across the state. The project, known as RECAP- Resilience, Engagement and Conflict Prevention for At-Risk Populations’ Protection in Sokoto State, was officially unveiled on Wednesday during an External Stakeholders Grant Opening Meeting held in Sokoto. CBN retains interest rate at 26.5%

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday retained the benchmark interest rate at 26.5 per cent. CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso announced the decision at the conclusion of the bank’s two-day MPC 305th meeting, held from 19 to 20 May in Abuja.
