There has been outrage over the outing of a masquerade from Awgbu community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State during a burial ceremony on Monday. The masquerade, identified by indigenes of the community as Agaba, is said to be famed and fiery, and usually appears only after 6pm when ceremonies are over, due to its destructive tendencies. The Tertiary Education Trust Fund has announced a N6.452bn allocation for 271 public tertiary institutions across Nigeria as part of its 2026 intervention programme. The funding, approved by President Bola Tinubu, is intended to support infrastructure development, improve teaching and learning, strengthen research capacity and advance innovation in the tertiary education sector. The funds will be paid directly to beneficiary institutions nationwide. The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed that five persons sustained injuries following a road traffic crash involving five vehicles at the popular PZ area of Zaria on Tuesday. The Zaria Unit Commander of the FRSC, Mr Nasiru Falgore, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the incident.
