The Vice Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Grace Ogunleye, has been remanded at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre following her arraignment on charges of conspiracy and self-kidnapping. Mrs Ogunleye was arraigned on Wednesday alongside three others before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, according to the Ekiti State Police Command. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command said its personnel have foiled a kidnap and cattle rustling attempt at Bakin Komau, Dangora area in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State. A statement by the Commandant’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the incident occurred on Thursday when armed assailants attacked a shepherd, inflicted serious injuries on him, and abducted his two children while attempting to rustle livestock. Ten suspected robbers and thugs have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command in a crackdown on criminal gangs operating in parts of Minna, with dangerous weapons and suspected cannabis recovered from the suspects. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has impounded more than 30 vehicles for operating with tinted glasses, obscured number plates, and improper registration as it commenced the enforcement of the ban on tinted vehicles across Abuja.
