Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has expressed sadness over the passing of a former Minister of Science and Technology, Turner Isoun. Late Isoun, a professor, was minister between 2000 and 2007. This was contained in a statement by Governor Diri’s spokesman, Daniel Alabrah, issued on Friday in Yenagoa. The former minister, 87, died on 15 July in Abuja. A 29-year-old aspiring musician has voluntarily renounced his membership of a cult group and surrendered a Beretta pistol to security authorities in Edo State after listening to an anti-cultism message by the acting Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Blessing Ebhodaghe. The Regional Leader of the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev. Federal authorities have arrested a Florida man suspected of stealing at least $220,000 in crypto through malware-infected Steam games, as reported earlier by local news outlet Local10. In the complaint, officials accuse 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins and co-conspirators of launching eight malware-embedded games from around May 2024 to February 2026, allowing them to infect about 8,000 devices and gain access to 80 crypto wallets.Though the complaint doesn’t specifically say the games were uploaded to Steam, it’s likely referring to the Valve-owned gaming platform. The Federal High Court in Yenagoa on Friday dismissed a suit challenging the divestment of Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Ltd from onshore assets. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Bubaraiye Dakolo, the traditional ruler of Ekpetiama in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa, filed the suit. Mr Dakolo sought redress and remediation of cumulative pollution in the local government area for 40 years. The traditional ruler alleged that Shell’s divestment did not comply with the stipulated guidelines under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.
