Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, with the backing of the Nigeria Labour Congress, on Monday stormed the National Industrial Court in Abuja as part of an ongoing total and indefinite strike over unresolved labour disputes. The protest followed a directive from the NLC, which declared full support for the industrial action, describing the strike as justified amid what it termed persistent violations of workers’ rights by the FCTA management and political leadership. The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a man, Hamza Sama, over an alleged employment scam involving more than 175 job seekers in the state. Police said the suspect, who resides in the KCC area of Birnin Kebbi, allegedly collected money from victims under the guise of securing jobs in the state’s school feeding programme across primary and secondary schools. Operatives of the Department of State Services on Saturday arrested two suspected members of a sea piracy syndicate in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. The suspects, identified as Geoffrey Atizara, 38, and Divine Unueze, 42, were arrested at a hotel on Tenacious Street in the Edepie area of Yenagoa.
