A mother and father in Iowa were arrested after their 10-year-old child was allegedly found malnourished and locked up inside of their home. Andrew C. Warrington and Kellie J. Warrington have been charged with first-degree kidnapping, child endangerment, willful injury and neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, according to Scott County jail records viewed by Us Weekly. The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly Chapter, has distanced itself from Tuesday’s protest by a group of individuals who claimed to be federal legislature workers and accused management of neglecting staff welfare. A coalition of environmental, agricultural, and civil society organisations has urged the Nigerian government to put on hold new approvals of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in the country. It is also asking the government to conduct an independent review of existing approvals, citing concerns over biosafety, public health, biodiversity, and farmers’ rights. The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus, has urged Uganda to reconsider its decision to close its border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) over the ongoing Ebola outbreak. According to a Reuters report, Mr Ghebreyesus appealed during a visit to an Ebola isolation unit in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, where he praised the country’s response to the outbreak as prompt and effective. The African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate in the last FCT council election, Dr. Paul Moses Ogidi, has called for the immediate suspension of the proposed judgment in Petition No. FCT/ACET/EP/01/2026, citing what he described as unresolved jurisdictional issues surrounding the composition of the Area Council Election Petition Tribunal. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has confirmed the tragic demise of a commercial bus driver, following a fatal multiple-vehicle collision that occurred earlier today, at Cele Expressway inward Oshodi.
