The data revealed that gas production rose to 7.93bcf/d in May 2026, representing a 0.63 per cent year-on-year increase from the 7.88bcf/d recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has auctioned a six-storey hotel in Lagos and three other properties confiscated from convicted drug traffickers for a total of N6.15 billion, in what the agency described as a demonstration that proceeds of illicit drug trade would not remain in the hands of criminals. Civic tech organisation BudgIT has raised concerns about the Nigerian Government’s 2026 budget, calling it “ambitious, but unrealistic” and unviable. The organisation noted in a statement on Monday that, with revenue projected at N36.9 trillion and expenditure at N68.3 trillion, the country will contend with a fiscal deficit of N31.5 trillion this year, equivalent to 6.4 per cent of the gross domestic product.
