Ibrahima Konate has become Real Madrid’s first summer signing.
The 26-year-old has reached a verbal agreement with the LaLiga giants to join as a free agent.
Konate only announced his exit from Liverpool in the past few days, as his contract ended with the Premier League side.
He will now become the first arrival at the Bernabeu after Madrid wrapped up a deal to appoint Jose Mourinho as their new manager.
The deals for Konate and Mourinho will be announced if Florentino Perez is re-elected as Real Madrid president.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “Real Madrid have verbal agreement in place with Ibrahima Konaté!
“Four year deal to be signed, depending on if/when Florentino Pérez is re-elected.
“Here we go, expected right after.
“Konaté put Saudi bids on hold for Real Madrid, as @marcosbenito9 reported.”
