Chelsea have received a timely fitness boost with Reece James and Levi Colwill both returning to training, according to interim coach McFarlane.
Speaking to reporters, Chelsea Interim Coach, Calum McFarlane, confirmed the positive update on the defensive duo after recent injury concerns.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday, McFarlane was quoted as saying, “Reece is back in training. Levi is back in training. Both looking good. Both are looking promising.”
James, who has struggled with recurring fitness issues in recent seasons, and Colwill, an important part of Chelsea’s defensive setup, are both expected to be assessed further before any decision is made on their return to competitive action.
Colwill has been sidelined for most of the season due to a serious knee/ACL injury.
Their comeback comes at a crucial stage of the campaign as Chelsea look to stabilise results and strengthen their squad depth for the run-in.
Further updates on their availability for upcoming fixtures are expected in the coming days as the coaching staff monitors their progress.
