Edo Queens FC will on Monday take on Ghetto Tigers Queens FC in a President’s Federation Cup round of 32 encounter in Akure, Ondo State.
Despite the surprises often associated with the competition, Edo Queens coach Moses Aduku and his players are determined to overcome their Lagos opponents and secure a place in the round of 16.
For the Edo State government-backed side, the fixture also presents an opportunity to end their winless run in the Federation Cup, with the coaching crew expressing confidence in the team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
The team believes maintaining confidence and delivering strong performances in every match will be crucial to achieving success in the competition.
Captain Deborah Odiagbe said the team was fully focused on securing victory, stressing that there are no easy fixtures in the Federation Cup.
“We are in Akure to win. There are no small games in the FA Cup. This will be our first encounter with Ghetto Tigers Queens FC of Lagos. No team is a pushover,” she said.
“We believe in ourselves, and we are confident we have all it takes to come out victorious in this year’s edition of the President Federation Cup. We have our eyes set on the trophy and, by the grace of God, Edo Queens will break that FA Cup jinx.”
