The 2025–26 season has drawn to a close across Europe’s “Big Five” leagues, confirming the teams that will drop out of the continent’s elite competitions next season.
Relegation from the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, or Ligue 1 often brings severe financial consequences, reduced broadcasting revenue, and the challenge of rebuilding for an immediate return.
With one game remaining in some of the leagues, mostly to be played today (Sunday), PUNCH Online compiles the list of relegated teams.
Here is the complete list of relegated clubs:
Premier League (England)
- Burnley (21)
- Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) (19)
A third team’s fate remains dependent on the final games of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United later today.
Tottenham sit in 17th place with 38 points, while West Ham are currently in the relegation zone in 18th place with 36 points.
Spurs control their own destiny as they head into their final game against Everton at home.
The Hammers must secure a victory in their final game against Leeds United to have any realistic hope of staying up.
LaLiga (Spain)
- Mallorca (42 points)
- Girona (41 points)
- Real Oviedo (29 points)
Serie A (Italy)
- Hellas Verona (21)
- Pisa (18)
The final relegated team will be either Lecce or Cremonese, who currently sit in 17th and 18th positions with 35 and 34 points, respectively.
Bundesliga (Germany)
- FC Heidenheim (26)
- FC St. Pauli (26)
Ligue 1 (France)
