Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze could be on his way out of AC Milan this summer, with the Serie A club reportedly viewing the Nigerian as one of their most sellable assets ahead of the new season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian international has returned to Milan following the end of his loan spell at Fulham, but uncertainty continues to surround his future at the San Siro.
Fulham opted against activating the €26m purchase option included in the loan agreement despite Chukwueze’s encouraging performances in the Premier League. The winger scored three goals and provided four assists in 23 league appearances while developing a strong partnership with fellow Nigerians Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.
Reports in Italy suggest Milan are still in discussions with Fulham over a possible revised deal, although no agreement has been reached between both clubs.
Chukwueze will rejoin the Rossoneri squad for pre-season, but speculation over his future has intensified following changes within the club’s technical setup.
According to Italian football journalist Luca Cerchione, Milan are willing to listen to offers for the former Villarreal star if the right proposal arrives.
“The club views Chukwueze as a sellable asset, though they are prepared to let him leave only if a suitable offer arrives,” Cerchione wrote on X.
“His situation differs from that of Rafael Leão, Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are reportedly considered surplus to requirements.”
The development suggests Chukwueze could remain at Milan, although he may face increased competition for playing time if he stays at the club.
He joined Milan in the summer of 2023 on a five-year deal in a deal worth €20m.
With two years left on his current contract, Milan are expected to carefully assess their options regarding the 26-year-old as they seek to balance squad planning with preserving his market value.
Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023 and has struggled to consistently secure a starting place despite flashes of his quality. A move away from the club could offer the Super Eagles winger a fresh opportunity to revive his career ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international commitments.
