Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a video shared on X on Tuesday.
βVice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to participate in the Eid-el Kabir holidays.
βThe Vice President conveys his heartfelt wishes and blessings to Nigerians celebrating the festive season,β Nkwocha wrote.
PUNCH reports that the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration amid heightened security alerts and nationwide deployments by military and law enforcement agencies to forestall possible attacks during the festivities.
