Members of the All Progressives Congress across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government Area in Ogun State on Wednesday elected Oludaisi Elemide as the party’s consensus candidate for the Odeda State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general election.
The primary election, conducted in line with the party’s guidelines and timetable, was held simultaneously across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government, including Odeda, Olodo, Alabata, Opeji, Obete, Osiele, Obantoko, Alagbagba, Itesi, and Ilugun.
Party members reportedly turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise, which was described as peaceful, transparent, and orderly across the local government area.
As the APC consensus candidate, Elemide received overwhelming endorsement from party faithful, who expressed confidence in his leadership style, legislative experience, and commitment to the constituency’s development.
According to a statement by his media aide, Kunle Idowu, he said, “Officials assigned to supervise the exercise monitored proceedings across the wards, while representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission observed the process.
“Supporters and party leaders across the constituency described Elemide’s emergence as a reflection of the acceptance and confidence he enjoys within the party structure in Odeda Local Government.
“They cited his performance as Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, accessibility to constituents, and contributions to grassroots development as factors responsible for the consensus support he received.
“Party faithful also pledged continued support for the APC and its candidate ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing optimism that the party would secure victory in the constituency.”
The successful conduct of the election exercise was also seen by party members as evidence of unity and cooperation among APC stakeholders in Odeda Local Government.
Reacting to his emergence, Elemide expressed gratitude to God and appreciated Dapo Abiodun for what he described as exemplary leadership, fatherly support, and commitment to sustaining unity and quality representation across the state.
He also acknowledged the support of Olusegun Osoba, whom he described as a revered national leader whose guidance and progressive ideals continue to inspire many public office holders.
Idowu further said, “The Speaker appreciated Solomon Olamilekan Adeola for his encouragement and commitment to the continued growth of the APC and Ogun State.
“Elemide thanked party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and supporters across Odeda State Constituency for their confidence, prayers, and support over the years.”
According to the speaker, his emergence as consensus candidate represents “a victory for unity, continuity, progress and the collective aspiration of the people for greater development and stronger representation.”
He pledged to continue serving the people with humility, dedication, accessibility, and a renewed commitment to the development of the Odeda State Constituency.
The speaker also called for greater unity and collective responsibility among party members and supporters ahead of the 2027 general election.
