Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has issued a stern warning to his former godfather, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, stating that if he continues speaking carelessly about him, he will “open a Pandora’s box”.
“Tell them, that they are talking too much, enough is enough, if they don’t stop, I will open my mouth and it will smell like hell”, Governor Yusuf said in a viral clip shared online.
“I wonder why a 69-year-old person will continuously be calling a 63-year-old a boy, this is unacceptable”, he added apparently referring to Kwankwaso’s persistent description of him as a boy.
It is on record that since his defection to the All Progressives Congress, Governor Yusuf had never been quoted speaking against his former godfather, Kwankwaso, rather he consistently called for restraint on social media attacks.
However, the recent outbursts could be seen by many as a signal of more intense politicking in Kano, particularly between the governor and Kwankwaso.
