Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have killed two suspected terrorists during a night ambush in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out under Operation Desert Sanity/Siege Operations at about 11:05 pm on May 13, 2026, in Bazamri village, which is described as a major crossing route for ISWAP members.
According to Zagazola Makama, troops on ambush duty intercepted the suspects and engaged them in a gun battle, leading to the death of the two insurgents.
After the operation, soldiers searched the area and recovered items believed to be supplies meant for the terrorists, including 54 packs of 80-gram detergent, 32 packs of 500-gram salt, and one carton of spaghetti.
Military authorities said no soldier was injured or killed during the operation.
The sources added that the troops later changed position and continued surveillance operations in the area as part of ongoing efforts to prevent terrorist movements.
Security sources also said the troops’ morale and operational efficiency remained satisfactory as offensive operations continued across the region.
