The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested four suspected drug traffickers.
Operatives of the Edo State Command of the NDLEA arrested two female suspected drug traffickers at the back of the Oredo Local Government Area Secretariat in Benin City.
DAILY POST reports that the State Commander of the NDLEA, Dr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed this on Monday, May 18, 2026, while detailing the command’s achievements across the state in the past week.
Ofoyeju gave the names of the suspects as Eniye Osague, 25, and Osaretin Erabor, 43.
He said Eniye Osague and Osaretin Erabor were arrested on May 15, 2026, with 272 grams of Scottish loud and 914 grams of cannabis sativa, respectively.
He also disclosed that another 38-year-old female suspect identified as Vivian Chukwuma, and a male suspect, Osigwe Omogie, 44, were also arrested at the Hausa Quarters, Oluku, Benin City.
The Edo State NDLEA boss added that the suspects were found with 315 grams of cannabis loud, 22 grams of Colorado, 38 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of Tramadol 100mg, 113 grams of cannabis sativa, 8 grams of loud, and 5 grams of tramadol.
According to him, in a separate operation, three female suspects and one male drug trafficker were apprehended during raids at the back of the Oredo Local Government Secretariat in Benin City, the Oluku area of the metropolis, and Uduwuga in Uhumwonde Local Government Area.
Ofoyeju, who gave the names of the suspects, stated that in a sustained offensive against drug trafficking and abuse, the command also destroyed two cannabis plantations with an estimated yield of 1,388.42kg.
He said the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence during a raid at the Ago Forest in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state, where two large cannabis farms were located.
He said the destroyed farms measured 0.362021 hectares and 0.229346 hectares respectively, totalling 0.555367 hectares.
Ofoyeju added that the estimated yield of the illicit farms was put at 1,388.4175 kilograms, noting that no arrests were made at the scene because the cultivators were absent during the raid.
