Singer and songwriter, Adekunle Gold, recently hosted an exclusive dinner at Vici, Victoria Island, Lagos, to celebrate his appointment as a brand ambassador for the single malt Scotch whisky, The Macallan.
The invitation-only event, which hosted about 50 guests, brought together leading figures from Nigeria’s creative and entertainment industry, including Simi Kosoko, Bovi, Ladipoe, Femi Dapson, Dotun Kayode, Teniola Aladese, Ugo Mozie, Kaylah Oniwo, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, and others.
Designed as an intimate celebration of craftsmanship and intentional creativity, the evening featured a live four-piece string quartet and bespoke cocktails as guests arrived.
The event was formally opened by The Macallan brand ambassador and educator, Daniel Atteh, followed by remarks from Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager, West and Central Africa – Edrington Portfolio, who highlighted the alignment between the brand and Adekunle Gold.
“We are committed to excellence, crafted with patience and time. That is why the partnership with Adekunle Gold feels so natural. He is someone who is intentional about his craft, and that has been evident across more than a decade of work. Tonight we are proud to officially announce him as our brand ambassador,” Adebiyi said.
Guests were served a three-course gourmet dinner accompanied by a guided whisky tasting, curated to draw parallels between the maturation of fine single malt whisky and the creative evolution of enduring artistry.
Gold later took part in a fireside chat, where he reflected on his artistic journey, describing years of persistence, discipline, and growth that have shaped his career. He subsequently led a toast to formally seal the partnership with his close associates in attendance.
Speaking on the collaboration, he described the moment as one of gratitude and validation of his creative journey.
He said, “Tonight is about gratitude. It has been a long time coming. I took the stairs, I did the work, and it is incredible to see that the time and hard work have chosen to become forever. I am grateful that a company like The Macallan understands my journey, sees my excellence and everything I represent. To every creative out there, just keep going. Take the road less travelled, do the work and be about excellence. That is the road to everything else.”
