KWAM 1 withdraws suit challenging Awujale succession

Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has withdrawn the suit he filed at the Ogun State High Court challenging steps taken towards the installation of a new Awujale of Ijebuland. A notice of discontinuance dated 22 December and filed at the High Court in Ijebu Ode shows that Mr Ayinde formally discontinued the case against all the respondents, including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun. Other respondents to the now terminated suit were officials of the Ijebu-Ode Local Government, the state attorney general, and the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. Vessel from Gabon razed down inside Calabar Channel, 20 sea men rescued

A sea going vessel from Gabon was engulfed in fire Tuesday morning in the Calabar Channel. Reports said the vessel, MV Chimba Express, was conveying scrap materials and other logistics from Gabon. The vessel had sent a distress call en route from Gabon to Calabar. A stampede has claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman, Karen Lojore at a popular Nigerian musician’s show in Nairobi, Kenya. 10 Killed in Fatal Jos-Bauchi Road Crash in Plateau State

No fewer than 10 persons have been killed in a road crash along the Jos–Bauchi Road in Plateau State.
