The Plateau State Commissioner for Health, Nicholas Baamlong, on Tuesday said the state recorded two confirmed cases of Lassa fever, with two fatalities. The Enugu State High Court on Friday sentenced two former bankers, Sani Aferokhe and Hillary Odo, to a combined 12-year jail term for criminally diverting N10.3m belonging to pensioners. A 29-year-old Nigerian woman, Olajide Iyanuoluwa, has been arrested in India with 121 grams of cocaine valued at about Rs 1.20 crore (approximately N195m), which she allegedly concealed inside bread loaves.
