A retired senior military officer, Colonel Ajanaku (rtd), has been rescued from kidnappers by troops of the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army and Operation Enduring Peace. The rescue happened around the Rafiki axis located in Bassa local government area of Plateau state.Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 3rd Division, Nigerian Army, confirmed the rescue of the retired senior military officer. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has tasked the inter-ministerial committee on the international airport status of the Victor Attah Airport to ensure that all required benchmarks are met ahead of the facility’s operational take-off in April this year. The Federal Government last year upgraded the Victor Attah Airport to international status, clearing the way for the facility to begin processing international passengers this year. The governor also charged the committee on the Treasury Single Account to ensure the full implementation of the TSA for Internally Generated Revenue in the state. The Rivers State Police Command said its officers have arrested two persons for suspected murder in the Eleto community in the Eleme Local Government Area of the state. The police said the suspects allegedly abducted a youth at a piece of land in Okrika LGA and ferried him to neighbouring Eleme, where they committed the crime. Spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Monday. Members of the Kennedy family are paying their respects after relative Tatiana Schlossberg died at the age of 35. Tatiana, the youngest daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, died on December 30, 2025, after battling cancer. “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning,” a statement shared by the JFK Library Foundation read. “She will always be in our hearts.” The statement was signed by Tatiana’s husband, George Moran, and their two children, Edwin and Josephine.
