Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said that the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba; Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu; and other state government-owned higher institutions will not be converted into universities. The governor made the point on Friday in Umuahia while reacting to reports that the immediate past administration in the state converted three institutions into universities before exiting office. Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau State have arrested a suspect over the killing of a man following a violent fight in Bassa Local Government Area. Security sources said the incident occurred around 2 am on May 23 in Bomo village, where two residents, Sani Haruna and Bashiru Saidu, were involved in an altercation. The Police Command in Edo State has rescued all 13 passengers abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Benin-Lagos expressway, following a coordinated operation involving aerial surveillance, drones and bush-combing tactics. The command’s spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Benin City.
