The Gombe State Police Command has revealed gunmen have killed two people and kidnapped six others in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State. The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday, December 28, 2025, at about 3:30 a.m. Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in Gombe State, DSP Buhari Abdullahi said the armed men first entered a house along the Pindiga–Kashere Road, where they shot Yusuf Mohammed, 31, and Faiza Mohammed, 28. Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested two suspected kidnappers linked to the 2023 abduction and killing of a neurology professor, Ekanem Philip-Ephraim, in Cross River State. Philip-Ephraim was abducted on July 13, 2023, at her office in Calabar, Cross River State, and was later confirmed killed by her abductors. No fewer than three people lost their lives following a clash on Saturday between security operatives and suspected drug peddlers at Koraman Nayalle, Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters in Katsina metropolis.
