The Nigeria Police Force in Akwa Ibom State has said it arrested a 63-year-old man allegedly involved in drug trafficking and recovered large quantities of substances suspected to be cannabis. Men of the Oyo State Police Command have killed three persons suspected of being kidnappers. The suspects were killed in Otu in Itesiwaju local government area of Oyo, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Police department, Olayinka Ayanlade. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed over 56,000 personnel across the country to ensure adequate security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. The Corps said the deployment was aimed at protecting lives, property, and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the federation.
