The Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Omoniyi, on Monday said the state government plans to deliver no fewer than 3,000 housing units in 2026, backed by a budgetary allocation of over N100bn for the sector. Omoniyi also disclosed that the government would deliver 579 low-income housing units in the second quarter of 2026, out of the 2,500 units planned for workers around Siun in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state. A fire outbreak on Monday gutted an open recycling space and spread to nearby buildings along Pipeline Road, off Ekoro Road, Abule Egba, Lagos.
