Results from the ongoing African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential primary election shows that Rotimi Amaechi defeated Atiku Abubakar in Bayelsa State. Amaechi secured 44,404 votes in the state while Atiku got 6,570 votes. Mohammed Hayatudeen recorded just 939 votes. In Imo State, Atiku got 52,200 votes, while Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation scored 7,659 votes. Hayatudeen polled 1,121 votes. Results from other states are still trickling in as at the time of filing this report. Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Special Squad 1 have neutralised four suspected kidnappers during a counter-operation aimed at preventing the abduction of a businessman in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State. The operation, which took place on Sunday night at the Jakande Estate Gate, also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, another firearm, ammunition, and vehicles allegedly linked to the criminal gang.
