The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has described President Bola Tinubu as a major player in the protracted political battle between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. According to CUPP, Rivers State is not falling apart by happenstance as it is being consciously immolated as a political offering to President Bola Tinubu. CUPP noted that two prominent figures, tormented by the shadow of irrelevance and consumed by the need for powerful patronage, have traded the mantle of responsible leadership for grand gestures of submission, willingly torching the collective…

When a person talks to another to stop doing what is wrong, encouraging them to do what is right instead, I imagine it is light they shed. They shed light to remove darkness. In my opinion, the work that preachers do puts them in this category. However, when those who encourage others to do what is right start to do what is wrong, what do they shed – light or darkness? The worst part is that some don’t recognise or want to admit that their light is darkness. Others recognise it, but they carry on as though darkness hasn’t set…
A former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, Chief Asukewe Ikoawaji, has characterised the current administration as “kindergarten” and criticised the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress for its silence during attempts to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He also warned that the ruling party may lose the 2027 general elections if it fails to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.
