The Cross River State Command of the Federal Fire Service, FFS, has confirmed an attack on its fire truck and personnel during an operation in Calabar, the state capital. Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was on Monday arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, over criminal charges including assault and resisting arrest. Layer-2 network ZKsync released a 2026 roadmap that puts privacy, deterministic control and native interoperability at the center of its strategy for institutional digital asset adoption.Its plan, published by Matter Labs co-founder and CEO Alex Gluchowski, frames zero-knowledge technology as a foundational infrastructure for regulated finance. Residents of Makoko, a densely populated waterfront community along the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, on Tuesday, protested the demolition of their homes, which began about three weeks ago. They accused the Lagos State Government of extending the exercise beyond the agreed 30-metre powerline setback without notice or resettlement plans.
