The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital has vowed to take legal action against some members of staff of the institution allegedly involved in job racketeering. The police in Ekiti State said the worshippers abducted during the attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) crusade in Eda Oniyo-Ekiti, Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the state, have been rescued. The spokesperson of the command, Sunday Abutu, a superintendent of police, said in a statement that the victims were rescued on Friday. The Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested 89 drivers for flouting the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on the crackdown on vehicles without registration number plates or with covered number plates, saying such violations pose a threat to both local and national security. The command also arrested two armed robbery suspects, Abdulsalam Adam and Israel Salako, and recovered a stolen vehicle and two motorcycles in separate operations aimed at ridding the state of criminal elements. The police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly threatening to shoot a traditional ruler with a locally made pistol in Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state.
