Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) on Monday commenced an indefinite strike, shutting down government offices across Abuja. Geregu Power Plc posted a 0.6 per cent drop in net profit to N27.3 billion for the full year 2025, compared to the previous year, according to its audited financial report issued on Monday. The power utility recorded a profit decline despite a marked improvement in turnover, as cost pressures eroded earnings. Revenue for the period under review jumped by more than one-third to N184.9 billion, boosted by a notable increase in energy sold, which rose to N120.8 billion from N87.5 billion a year earlier. Filmmaker and producer Kunle Afolayan has cast Portuguese movie star Pedro Teixeira and the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in his upcoming film, “Anikulapo: The Ghoul Awakens.” Afolayan disclosed this while unveiling the thriller for the second season of his epic series, “Anikulapo”, on his Instagram page on Monday. Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped more than 100 worshipers in Kaduna state. The gunmen reportedly carried out coordinated attacks on three churches in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru LGA of the state. The victims were said to have been kidnapped during Sunday services. The assailants reportedly arrived in large numbers, struck almost simultaneously, and whisked the worshippers away. The Lagos State Police Command says normalcy has been restored in the Tincan–Liverpool Bridge area of Apapa after a diesel tanker overturned on the bridge. DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred on Monday morning, causing gridlock in the area. Residents were also sighted in a viral video, scooping fuel from the fallen tanker.
