Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has defended the ongoing demolition of structures in Makoko, a waterfront community along the Third Mainland Bridge, saying the action is necessary to safeguard lives and property. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday condemned the actions of residents who risked their lives by scooping fuel leaking from an overturned tanker at Liverpool Bridge in Apapa, describing the behaviour as dangerous and irresponsible. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has made a private visit to former military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his Hill Top residence in Minna, Niger State capital. The Ogun State Police Command has taken one person into custody over the death of well-known singer Adesina Afeez, popularly known as Destiny Boy.
