Nigeria has been listed among 60 economies targeted by the United States for allegedly failing to impose and effectively enforce bans on the importation of goods produced with forced labour, a move that could trigger new 12.5 per cent tariffs on exports to the American market. An Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka has remanded a Nnewi-based native doctor, Ikechukwu Ezenagu, popularly known as Muomiri Afuluanya, at the Amawbia Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in his trial. Justice Jude Obiora gave the order after hearing arguments from both the defence and prosecution during proceedings on June 3.
