A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Austin Okai, has described the impeachment proceedings in Rivers State as an indication that the All Progressives Congress, ADC, has betrayed Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The Kano State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Isa Makwarari, before Magistrate Court No. 53 in the Normansland area of Kano metropolis. Sheikh Makwarari is accused of involvement in the illegal sale of government and community-owned lands, an offence described by the police as a serious violation of land administration laws. Qatar Stars League side, Al Ahli SC have confirmed the signing of former Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, DAILY POST reports. Troost-Ekong linked up with Al Ahli SC from Saudi club, Al Kholood. The experienced centre-back penned a contract with his new club until June 2028. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has  promised to continue to deploy personnel and operational resources to address security challenges on the Plateau and other parts of the country. The Federal Government has proposed a total allocation of N87.31bn for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and its agencies in the 2026 Appropriation Bill, with the bulk of the funding directed towards capital expenditure. Details of the budget proposal show that N70.19bn, representing more than 80 per cent of the total allocation, is earmarked for capital projects. At the same time, N14.78bn is set aside for personnel costs and N2.34bn for overheads. The document contained no provisions for retained independent revenue or aid and grant funding.
