The Governing Council of University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has approved the appointment of Prof. Princewill Chike as the institution’s 10th Vice-Chancellor. Chike is expected to assume office on July 13 following the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, on the same date. Suspected bandits have abducted a nine-year-old boy and vandalised two residential buildings during an attack on Igbosi area of Idogun in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday when the armed men stormed the community, firing gunshots indiscriminately to create panic among residents before carrying out the attack. The abducted child, identified as Oluwatobi, is the son of a local cleric, Isaac Olaosebikan.
