A man, Ikenna Mojekwu, has been remanded in custody after being arraigned on Wednesday before the Gender Magistrate Court in Awka, Anambra State, for the alleged rape of his 14-year-old daughter. The incident occurred in Aguluzoigbo, a community in the Anaocha Local Government Area. Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State police spokesperson and a Superintendent of Police, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. The Adamawa State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle and arrested two suspects in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje. President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of the Fourth Legacy Highway by an additional 400 kilometres, increasing the length of the strategic road corridor from about 700 kilometres to approximately 1,100 kilometres, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced on Thursday. Crypto exchange Bybit announced Thursday it has launched a locally operated platform in Indonesia after acquiring a majority stake in digital asset firm PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal, formerly known as NOBI. The deal saw NOBI rebranded as Bybit Indonesia. The crypto exchange said it plans to introduce its services in phases, starting with 500 cryptocurrency trading pairs. The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday struck down some key provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 touching on political parties’ primary elections and membership registers.
