A Pan-African infrastructure fund private equity firm, ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investments Limited, has raised approximately $76m in the first close of its climate transition successor fund aimed at mobilising institutional capital for infrastructure projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Cross River Taskforce on Health Quality and Anti-Quackery has sealed a private health facility, Safe Hands Maternity Clinic, in Calabar Municipality following the reported death of a patient after surgery. The task force, led by its Chairman, Dan Abubakar, conducted an unscheduled inspection of the facility on Sunday following a petition alleging that a patient died after undergoing surgery there. The facility, owned by Inyang Ekeng, a community health extension officer, was found to be a three-bedroom apartment converted into a six-bed maternity clinic without licensed nursing personnel. Nigeria’s merchandise trade, which covers the import and export of tangible, physical goods across international borders, touched N34.8 trillion in the quarter to March as exports outstripped imports, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday showed. Total exports stood at N21.2 trillion, up 2.8 per cent from the N20.6 trillion reported in Q1 2025. Compared to the last quarter of last year, merchandise trade in the period under review rose by 11.6 per cent. The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Oluchi Ugbowan for faking her own kidnapping. PREMIUM TIMES gathered that Mrs Ugbowan’s daughter, identified as Majesty Bundle, announced on her Instagram page that her mother was kidnapped. She disclosed that her mother was kidnapped whilst on her way to her shop, and appealed for financial contributions from well-meaning Nigerians.
