The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Electoral Committee has released the timetable for the federation’s executive committee elections scheduled for 27 September in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital. According to the timetable released by the committee, the sale of nomination forms will commence on Saturday, 1 August, alongside the publication of the election guidelines. The committee set 12 August as the deadline for submitting completed nomination forms. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) recorded a profit after tax of ₦535 billion in June 2026, while its crude oil and condensate production rose to 1.72 million barrels per day, the company’s latest monthly report stated. The profit figure recorded is ₦73 billion (15.8 per cent) higher than the ₦462 billion posted in May. The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a woman, Sadiat Yunusa, for allegedly killing a three-year-old girl, Ummaiyat Y., in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state over alleged jealousy arising from a prolonged domestic dispute. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says troops conducting military operations across Nigeria killed more than 102 terrorists, criminals, illegal miners and informants, arrested 486 suspects and rescued 393 kidnapped victims during operations in July. The figures were contained in an infographic released by the DHQ on Thursday, summarising ongoing military operations conducted nationwide during the month.
