Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has not acted illegally by freezing the Osun State Government’s account. Falana said the EFCC had the legal authority to freeze the account of a state government, provided it obtained a court order within the stipulated period. He stated this on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today. Microsoft Edge is ending support for the Manifest V2 extensions platform, which will cut off the uBlock Origin adblocker and others like it, just like Google Chrome did earlier this year. According to Microsoft, there are only 58 extensions on the Edge Add-On Store “with any meaningful usage” that still use MV2, and only three of those aren’t available on the newer MV3 platform. The Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted and sentenced four persons to prison for their roles in a money laundering scheme involving more than $5.2 million. Trial judge Friday Ogazi delivered the judgement on Wednesday after the four defendants pleaded guilty to charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). EFFC’s spokesperson Dele Oyewale named the convicts in a press statement on Friday as Bamidele Emmanuel, Abdullah Yusuf, Funmilayo Garuba and Gbenro Ademola. Canada’s economy added 75,000 jobs in July, bringing the unemployment rate down to 6.4 percent – its lowest level in two years – as the economy adapts to US tariffs, data showed Friday. The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered Dana Airlines Limited to pay a passenger N5.5 million in damages and legal costs over an 11-hour delay of a domestic flight, holding that the airline failed to justify the prolonged disruption.
