The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recommended that a vaccine called Ervebo be prioritised for a randomised clinical trial against Bundibugyo virus disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).The recommendation followed preliminary animal study data suggesting that the vaccine may provide some cross-protection against the disease, particularly in reducing deaths. Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has called for stronger collaboration among revenue-generating agencies in the state to boost internally generated revenue, block leakages and improve service delivery. The Imole Campaign Council, the campaign organisation of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, says more than 60 leaders and members of the governor’s party are currently in police detention. Mr Adeleke is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party in the 15 August off-cycle governorship election. His death was announced on Saturday by media personality Matilda Duncan, who shared the news on social media alongside photographs of the former reality television star.
