Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State says more personnel of the Nigerian Army will be deployed in the state soon to beef up the fight against insecurity. The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued nine victims following a swift response to an attack along the Katsina–Kankara highway. The Nigerian Army says troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed a terrorist, rescued three kidnapped victims, and destroyed a bandits’ camp during ongoing operations in Zamfara.
