Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State says more personnel of the Nigerian Army will be deployed in the state soon to beef up the fight against insecurity. Mr Soludo disclosed this in Awka on Friday during the third anniversary celebration of the Eighth Anambra House of Assembly. The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued nine victims following a swift response to an attack along the Katsina–Kankara highway. This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, and made available to journalists on Saturday in Katsina. The Nigerian Army says troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed a terrorist, rescued three kidnapped victims, and destroyed a bandits’ camp during ongoing operations in Zamfara.
