The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing of employers’ annual tax returns by a week, from February 1 to February 7. The Executive Chairman of LIRS, Dr Ayodele Subair, in a statement on Friday, explained that the statutory deadline for filing of employers’ annual tax returns is January 31 every year. Subair said the extension was intended to give employers additional time to complete and submit accurate tax returns. Fitbit users who are holding out on moving their data over to a Google account now have until May 19th, 2026 to make the switch. SoFi Technologies reported record fourth-quarter revenue of $1 billion as the US fintech bank reintroduced consumer crypto-based products.According to its earnings report released Friday, adjusted net revenue rose 37% year-on- year to $1 billion, while GAAP net income reached $173.5 million in the last quarter. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that it did not bar students enrolled in a tertiary institution from applying for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). According to a statement by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, the board mandated only such students to disclose their existing admissions. “For the avoidance of doubt, JAMB does not prohibit candidates who are already enrolled in tertiary institutions from registering for the UTME/DE,” the statement said.
