Fire razes retired health official’s four-bedroom home in Taraba

A four-bedroom flat owned by a retired staff member of the Health Services Management Board in Jalingo, Mr Ayuba Ali Dangana, has been completely destroyed by fire in the ATC area of Jalingo, Taraba State. The inferno, which reportedly started in the early hours of Wednesday, completely razed the building, with all household items destroyed beyond recognition. CAF announces date for WAFCON 2026 draw 

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has announced the date for the draw ceremony of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco’s capital, Rabat will host the draw on Thursday, 15 January, 2026. 16 teams will participate in the competition for the first time. Hosts Morocco and defending champions Nigeria are among the teams that will participate in the tournament. The other qualified teams are, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.
