The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Jigawa Command, has promised to investigate a suspected trafficking case involving four persons handed to it by the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oyo State Command, has arrested a 28-year-old, housewife over alleged human trafficking. In a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ibadan, the Command’s spokesman, Mr Samuel Opebiyi, said that efforts were on to apprehend her accomplice and husband, who is on the run. Opebiyi said the housewife and her husband allegedly trafficked a 17-year-old girl, to Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) for prostitution.
