The Nigerian Correctional Service has explained why Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, convicted of money laundering, was released from prison in February 2025, about four years after he was sentenced to eight years in prison. The Bauchi State government has introduced Small Quantity Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplement (SQ-LNS), to curb undernutrition. Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Board (BSPHCB), disclosed this in Bauchi on Friday. Undernutrition is a form of malnutrition resulting from insufficient intake or poor absorption of energy and nutrients, leading to wasting, stunting, and underweight status. Common symptoms include unintended weight loss, fatigue, brittle hair, and weakened immunity. Causes include poverty, lack of food access, chronic illness, or poor dietary habits. Nigerian singer Harrison “Harrysong” Okiri has responded to allegations made against him by his ex-wife, Alexer Gopa. In a bid to reduce maternal deaths caused by unsafe abortions, experts and stakeholders in Ogun State have warned residents to seek medical care from qualified and well-trained doctors rather than quacks.
