MainPower Electricity Distribution Ltd has confirmed the death of an operations staff member in an electrical accident in Enugu State. The company’s spokesman, Emeka Ezeh, confirmed the incident in Enugu on Monday. Mr Ezeh said the incident occurred on 13 August at Eke, Udi Local Government Area, at about 1 p.m. He identified the deceased as Samson Okechi, team lead, Abor, attached to MainPower’s 9th Mile District. Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved an additional ₦115 million monthly subvention for the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). The increase brings the state government’s total monthly funding to the institution from ₦161 million to ₦276 million. The police have arrested four suspects in connection with the alleged killing of a 30-year-old man, Sunday Pada, in the Korokpan area of Minna, Niger State. A cause of death has been determined for Jack Pugh, the former University of Wisconsin football player who retired from the sport to focus on his mental health. Pugh died of acute bronchopneumonia, an infection that causes fluid to fill the lungs and airways, according to a coroner’s report obtained by People. The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) has raised the alarm over reported structural distress and visible cracks at the Kangimi Dam in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
