The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday dismissed an appeal filed by former Managing Director of the Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank), Roberts Orya, against his conviction and 10-year jail time. A three-member panel led by Muhammed Danjuma upheld the judgement of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, which sentenced the former NEXIM Bank chief earlier in February to 10 years’ imprisonment. Security agencies and other stakeholders in Kogi State have begun preparations for the 2027 general election, with a focus on preventing violence and other threats that could undermine the electoral process.
