The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has described the recently signed agreement between the Nigerian government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as the death of incessant strikes in Nigerian public universities. The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) says it approved and classified a total of 1,185 films between January and December 2025. This is contained in a statement by Ogbonna Onwumere, Director, Corporate Affairs, NFVCB. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the figure represents an increase over the 1,088 films classified in 2024. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Tuesday, remanded a citizen of Niger, Isiaka Ibrahim, at the Ikoyi correctional centre over an alleged N351.5m fraud. Justice Ibrahim Kala ordered Ibrahim’s remand after he was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
